Hello September!

So I have been in MIA again for about 3 weeks again. A lot of things are going on in my life right now and I was just really too busy to blog. Here’s a list of the things or updates that I have as of 31Aug2014.

1. I have a new dog. Haha! Yes, I’m a crazy dog lady. I have a total of 5 dogs now and the newest member of my furfamily is a 2 year old teacup Pomeranian named “Betty”. She’s so tiny and shy. She’s very different from my playful pug and mini pin. Betty is also soooooo super clingy! She always wants to sit on my lap and just that. She only trusts me and my youngest brother.  Haha!

2. In relation to my furfamily, my pug Polly got sick 2 weeks ago. I thought she had epilepsy because she would just go stiff and passout randomly for several times and I got really scared!! She has complete vaccination so I am sure that she safe from distemper and all that shit. We observed her for 3 days and then took her to the vet since she didn’t show any improvements. The vet confirmed that it’s not that serious, the temp may have had something to do about it but she prescribed a medicine for the nerves and Polly has never again passed out. The vet also suggested Anti Heart Worm Shots for Polly and all my other furbabies. Better safe than sorry.

3. I have a new office crush! haha! We’ve been hanging more lately and things are doing fine. I do not foresee anything between the two of us, maybe because I do not want to expect anything. I think it’s just a simple, plain and innocent crush, nothing serious or crazy. It’s just nice to be excited to see someone on a daily basis. I feel so high schoolish now! haha!

4. I’m currently organizing a team building for 25 people on September 20 and 21, 2014. The team leaders that I am with want a TEAM BUILDING complete with activities and not just a TEAM BONDING with just plain eating, bonding, singing, etc… I hope everything goes well for this team building.

5. After the team building, we will be having a company party. I’ll have a separate post about it, probably after this and I’m just really excited for it!

6. Since it’s the 01 September today, I will be waking up extra early tomorrow to have my nails done and to have my eyebrows threaded. I can actually just do my nails at home but I prefer it be done by professionals as I don’t want to injure myself. I have done that a lot of times in the past and I hate it when that happens.

So that’s about it so far with my life updates and it’s 115 days to go before Christmas!!!! Haha!!

Thailand Radish Soap and Snail Soap

During my stay in the province, I had a lot of insect bites on my arms and legs.
These insect bites left not so pretty markings on my skin and I searched for ways to get rid of them. When I got back to Manila, a friend noticed the markings on my skin and suggested that I try this so called Radish Soap from Thailand. Out of curiosity, I contacted an online seller of the said products and ordered 2 soaps. I got the soaps from an online store Radish Soap for Php 150 and Snail Soap for Php 120.

The Radish Soap claims that it’s good for insect bites and acne marks on the body, the Snail Soap on the other hand claims that it’s good for oily skin on the face and gets rid of blemishes as well. I searched more about these Thai products online and I’m surprised to see that a lot of people claim that product worked for them.

It took the courier 3 days to deliver the parcel. Upon opening the boxes, I find the packaging really cute specially the Radish Soap.
I’m just a little bit disappointed on how small the products are.

I will be using these soaps starting tonight and I’ll be posting updates to keep you posted. J

Organic Skin Care

Aloha peppermints! So today, I received the organic skin care stuff I ordered online. It’s a perfect timing because I received them right before I get ready to go to work. After taking a bath, I immediately tried the Argan Oil. I ordered the 15ml bottle (Php330); I came in an amber bottle with a very posh type of dropper. Yes, a dropper. It smells nutty, not fragranced. I only used one drop and it was enough to cover my entire face. I also ordered 50g of the Aztec Clay Mask (Php75). The seller was pretty generous and ever gave me a free sample of her raw shea  butter. J Thanks thanks!

Here’s a photo of what I received.

Here’s the Argan Oil and the posh dropper. What you do is you press the button on top of the bottle before you open it to get the product into the dropper.

At night, I tried the Aztec Clay Mask. You mix it with either tap water or organic Apple Cider Vinegar but I used water as I’m not that much of a fan of the Apple Cider Vinegar. Upon mixing the Clay Powder and tap, I think I may have used too much powder. I used one tablespoon of the powder and about 4 tablespoons of water in order to get the right consistency.

In using the mask, you’re supposed to leave on your skin for just 20 minutes. As for me, I needed another extra 20 minutes making it a total of 40 mins because I wanted to feel the mask tightening up first before I rinse it off.

The mask really felt hard on the skin when it dried up. I feel the mask vacuuming the skin on my face and I liked the feeling that I couldn't smile anymore because I feel like my face is going to crack if I smiled! Haha!

After rinsing the mask off, my skin was super red and a bit warm. I applied two drops of Argan Oil all over my face and left it like that.

Hopefully I wake up with an okay skin tomorrow. I’m not expecting too much on these items as it’s the first time I’m using them anyway.

I'll be doing a weekly update about this new skin care routine.

What does it look like to you?

I'm back from a reading haitus and I wanted start with light reading as of the moment.

I picked up Jennifer Smith's "This is What Happy Looks Like". I just started last night and I could not move on from what I've read so far..

"Sunrises over the harbor. Ice cream on a hot day. The sound of the waves down the street. The way my dog curls up next to me on the couch. Evening strolls. Great movies. Thunderstorms. A good cheeseburger. Fridays. Saturdays. Wednesdays, even. Sticking your toes in the water. Pajama pants. Flip-flops. Swimming. Poetry. The absence of smiley faces in an e-mail.

What does it look like to you?"

This made me realize that sometimes, I tend to overthink what real happiness is..

It made me remember the simple things that make me happy, a sweet treat, waking up to see my dogs still curled up under the covers, hearing my favorite song, sweaters on rainy days, a pink lipstick, chill day in the office, seekng my crush before I go home, leavjng the office early, many other stuff..

It may not actually be just me, a us search for happiness above, over and beyond, anywhere and everywhere but find nothing.. I think it is because real happiness should start within ourselves.

I guess we just always have to be thankful for just being able to wake up each and every day to experience our "happinesses" whatever form they take.

So, what does you happiness look like??

C

and the journey begins today

As I have mentioned in the past, I have been suffering from severe hormonal imbalance. Side effects of which are irregular menstrual cycle, weight gain, break outs, etc...

I researched online and I found out that unhealthy lifestyle and diet are the main culprits. It is suggested that people suffering from hormonal imbalance to increase their intake of organic fruits and vegetables. I have to say, during my 7 day stay in the province, I had eaten nothing but organic fruits and veggies as my grandma grows them. In that time, my skin has actually been better compared to when I got back here in Manila.

I was actually advised by the OB to take in birth control pills on a monthly basis pero I don't like the idea of taking oral pills every day on a monthly basis. I tried it for 3 months and I did work but I would like to go on a more natural way of solving my problem.

I actually am in a "Fitness Diet" now. Trying to live a healthier life. Hopefully mapangatawanan ko to. I have to replace 2 meals with the fitness cereal instead and I'll eat it with my Organic Soy Milk. I never really liked soy milk but the one that I bought tastes really really good.

To help me keep up with this diet, I'll be doing a food diary here for 14 days. You can actually do this with me of course! I think it's a good way for me to make sure that the blog is updated on a more regular basis. *keeping fingers crossed*

back from my MIA Moment

Aloha peppermints! Here I go again. I was MIA for more than two months because I have been cray cray busy back in June with a lot of birthday celebrations and client visits and by July, I went to the province with my mum and brother. I enjoyed my time there, I had a great time getting in to know my relatives in the province. I'll be blogging about our vacay soon! Some sad news though, my boyfriend and I had broken up about a month ago and I'm in that point in my life that I'd rather see people walk out it than deal with all the BS forever...

Another reason that I haven't really blogged in the past few months is because I have been really stressed out and breaking out really bad.. I think my hormonal imbalance contributes to this as well, so I have been finding ways on treating my break outs and balancing my hormones.

I'll be sharing with you the things I do and things I use as well. if you do have any suggestions, please don't hesitate to share as I need all the help I could get in living a better life and being a better person. :)

*I think the photo on top would give you an idea of how much fun I had in General Santos City.
More of these on my next blog.

xoxo
